Wah How to use "Nevertheless"

We can use Nevertheless to indicate an unexpected contrasting idea, it is other ways of saying "but".
It is placed at the beginning of the second sentence.

  • I was very tired. Nevertheless, I was unable to sleep.
  • I am sick. Nevertheless, I must finish my homework.
  • It won't be easy. Nevertheless, we should do it.
  • We thought it would rain. Nevertheless, we started on our trip.
  • This food was so terrible. Nevertheless, they ate the whole lot.
  • This job is so great. Nevertheless, John doesn't like it.
  • Maria tried so hard. Nevertheless, she didn't win the competition.
